Used to take our small boys here a lot, went today and almost stepped on a syringe in the kid's playground. Will likely go elsewhere.

Great Pan-African family for EVERYONE, regardless of ethnicity or cultural upbringing!! Music, dancing, vendors/artisans, families and singles put enjoying each other and having a fabulous time. Come by every Labor Day...plan early to get a Lyft there or park (good distance away) and enjoy yourself for about 6 hours.

Very cool public park, near Temescal. Green spaces, trees, picnic areas with tables, seating.. Fenced playing fields, basketball courts. Fenced gated playground areas, divided by age, so older children aren't running over younger ones. Some on street parking available. Close to 3 hospitals with garage parking. On bus line.

Part of a great park with two enclosed dog parks, children's play area, and tennis and basketball courts. A lot of folks are about Mosswood during the weekends. The amphitheatre, in contrast, is always empty, but looks well maintained.

This is a great park with a playground, (somewhat dirty) dog run, grassy areas, basketball courts and numerous other features. There are special events and it's just a really lovely neighborhood park.

This is a twice abandoned jewel.
It SHOULD be a go to place for music or a wedding. It once was and i was married there.

First the parks department neglected it. The stage lacks things like electric power. The local bathrooms have burned down. The amphitheater itself never had the. It became a good place to spray paint and smoke weed.

Then the city of oakland let it become a homeless encampment. The burned down building next door and the unused dog run along with the original kids play area next to the unused victorian all are abandoned and have tents in them. Dogs run off leash through the park, so only the new toddlers area is free of them. Watch where you step.

I've only been here twice, both times for Burger Boogaloo. The Amphitheater is just OK as it can get very dusty if it's dry and people are dancing or moshing. But Burger Boogaloo is a five star event so it's definitely worth visiting at least one weekend every summer. Photo is from Burger Boogaloo in 2016.
