I signed up for Washburn's intro DJ course ("level 1") with Devon, after reading reviews online and couldn't be more impressed. Devon is a fantastic instructor - he is thoughtful, detailed, and coaches you incrementally over time. After every session, I leave feeling more excited and prepared, as his instruction is invaluable.

The studio setup is also top-notch, with all professional DJ/mixing and music production equipment.

Couldn't be happier with the course and will be moving onto the Level 2 one next.

The studio is in a great location on Market that is easily accessible by Muni. It was great to train on industry standard equipment in a room with amazing acoustics. I absolutely would recommend Washburn Studio to any aspiring DJ or Producer. I’ve been working with Devon a little over a year. Not only is he a fantastic instructor (extremely knowledgeable and offering instruction for every level), he is a true advocate for your success. Devon is clearly technical and his program teaches you on “club standard” equipment. You will learn on Pioneer equipment - CDJs and DJM 900 NXS2. If you want to learn turntables/scratching, that is also offered. You will learn fundamental transitions and most importantly how to be adaptable/prepared for the unexpected. Washburn DJs are resilient and we exit the program with a robust skillset of mixing techniques. The program teaches you to think critically about the mechanics of mixing, especially the “WHY” behind when you would want to employ a certain technique in a certain situation. Devon and his coaches are dedicated and committed to your growth. Devon in particular is willing to get you as far as you want to go, if you are willing to put in the work. I started as a complete newbie. Now I’m playing regularly at various bars, lounges, venues. Tonight I am playing at F8, for example. I am always learning new things from Devon. I have started my music production journey and am pushing my DJing to the next level. Devon is and has been there every step of the way. This is the best investment you will ever make if you are serious about breaking into the music industry and/or serious about cultivating your passion for music. I look forward to having Washburn and Devon in my life for many years to come. I give my highest recommendation to Washburn. Come join the crew.
