Called to check in about doing repairs to my guitar. I’m very new to the music scene and learning to play, but Roy was amazing. I could tell I was annoying him a little with all the questions I had, but he kept his patience and was entirely providing amazing customer service. “I’ve been a loyal customer of Guitar Center for years, but my recent experience at [Lawndale Artesia location] was unacceptable and disappointing. I went in to sell my MPC and was treated with blatant disrespect. The sales rep completely dismissed me, refused to even consider my gear, and acted like I wasn’t even there. It was clear to me that I was being racially profiled.

What’s even more concerning is the lack of diversity in the store every employee I saw was white, and it’s evident that there’s no effort being made to create an inclusive or welcoming environment. As a Black customer, I felt unwelcome and disrespected in a space I’ve supported for years.

This was a terrible experience, and I can’t recommend this store to anyone until they address their lack of diversity and ensure their staff treats all customers with fairness and respect. Guitar Center, do better.”

Justin, store manager, SUPER RUDE! Talk about entitlement, my brother had set his supplies to be paid. Justin stepped away from register and walked to another register, my brother followed so he was up next but yet helped someone else. That speaks volumes about how he is running this place. Not coming back to this guitar center that’s for sure. Every customer deserves respect. Set the example!
