Update:
Having gone to the symphony last Saturday night March 2 as part of a milestone birthday celebration, both of us were disappointed. And as I said in my review below, I will not be a patron of CenterTix or the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts ever again. Although 2 of the symphony's performances were quite excellent, the seats in ACPA have been falling apart for years. The usher who checked our tickets directed us to the incorrect entrance for our seats, so the second usher just inside the door took us to the wrong side of the row which resulted in an entire row of people having to stand up to let us pass. A woman was allowed to video the concert from the very beginning, using a large phone placed on a stand. Her phone blocked several patron's view from behind her and it was very distracting throughout most of the program. We should have been told about this somehow since it was obviously allowed. People were whooping and whistling after each piece, and applauding in between movements, something that had been discouraged in the past by the announcer before the beginning of classical concerts. Most of the downtown sidewalks were not taken care of regarding the seriousness of the thick ice patches making them very dangerous to walk on. I noticed elderly people attempting to navigate the sidewalk's glare ice devoid of any gravel or ice melt. Having been patrons of ACPA and CenterTix for a period of at least 25 years, we have noticed the decline, and no longer wish to participate.

Having spent $100.00 for tickets only to discover that the paper option for tickets mailed to your home has been eliminated, also that confirmations via email have been eliminated to GCI customers, an issue with CenterTix that has been ongoing for years, even though (hello?) I get CenterTix promotional emails all of the time. No refunds are issued regardless of the reason including that of CenterTix current failure to deliver decent customer service, something which obviously has become a thing of the past. It's almost as if this business has left us and affiliated itself with lower 48 mentality. Gone is the local service we have all come to know and appreciate. As a longtime customer who has purchased many tickets over the years, this most recent purchase will be my last. The two women I spoke with on the phone were very cold, especially the second woman who proceeded to argue with me, which prompted me to hang up on her. I used to be a ticket seller when it was CarrsTix, so I know what I am talking about when I say the current situation at CenterTix with customer service has become quite deplorable. Not everyone uses their phone to make purchases, mainly because of potential security threats. By forcing this method, CenterTix is making the purchase of tickets very inconvenient for many. Many who have had satisfactory results using their PC and having their tickets mailed within a few days to their home. Then to treat customers poorly on the phone just because they are frustrated is unwarranted. I will no longer be a customer of CenterTix, and I would not be surprised if many others like myself follow suit.

The seats were easy to choose and checkout was very easy. But the email for the tickets did not make sense. I can't print out the tickets with a barcode for a few weeks....That might not be convenient for everyone. It's not convenient for me. I was buying these tickets for my parents who do not do well with technology.

Avoid buying tickets through Event Tickets, a total scam that adds $50 to each ticket after you authorize the purchase! Center Tix might be clunky as a site, but it isn't as bad as Event Tickets.

I am REALLY unhappy with this ticket purchase experience online. I found the 2 perfect seats I wanted and clicked to purchase them. Centertix asked me to log in and I did using the correct password. But CT insisted it was the wrong password and I had to reset it. So I did. But when it directed me back to the site, my desired seats were now “in transition” and I couldn’t purchase them even though they were in transition for me! So I had to purchase less desirable seats because the concert is almost sold out and I don’t want to end up without any seats! Very annoying. And CT is closed so I can’t call to get it fixed. Sigh....

Ticket ordering very annoying. I wanted to use the standard mail to get tickets mailed to my house. For some reason, my address in "Anchorage, AK US" was interpreted as being an international address. I know lower 48 merchants think Alaska is international, but we should know better. I then could not remove the "US" from the country line and replace it with a blank. Very irritating and definitely a software glitch.

CenterTix is extremely frustrating. I have never been able to log in. I can’t login with Facebook. I have reset my password a dozen times. Absolutely a garbage interface on my cell phone. If you can use anything else to purchase tickets, I would recommend that.
