This lake holds a special place in my heart. I love free climbing and this is 100% the place to do it. There is always a business right by the water renting paddle boards and kayaks so you should be able to go even if you don’t own one. The lake is beautiful and the rocks are even better, tons of wildlife so keep your eyes peeled!

It's amazing Lake after eazy trail of ten-fifteen minutes from parking area downwards. The lake is surrounded by hard roud corners rocks. Many kinds of water birds and life seen here. Very calm and cool place with pin drop silence, filled with fresh and crisp air. One can enjoy here 2-3 hours easily and make their day memorable for life long....

Beautiful place, interesting hike, if you like climbing rocks. You have to be careful with the ants above and the spiders below. And don't forget the mosquito repellent. The facilities are excellent and you can reserve places to party with friends. For me, it's ideal as a weekend getaway.

Watson Lake Park in Prescott, AZ, is like stepping into another world—a breathtaking blend of deep blue waters and surreal granite boulders that look like they've been sculpted by ancient hands. Whether you're kayaking through the labyrinth of rock formations or hiking the rugged trails that encircle the lake, every moment here feels like an adventure in a natural art gallery. The sunsets are particularly magical, casting golden hues over the lake's surface and the towering granite, creating a scene that's nothing short of mesmerizing. Perfect for outdoor lovers, photographers, or anyone seeking a peaceful escape, Watson Lake Park offers a unique slice of Arizona's natural beauty that you won't find anywhere else.

Beautiful park excellent facilities, clean restrooms, phenomenally large and weld-lit Ramada and flat area for a wedding we attended.

The view of the lake from the Ramada and the wedding area was spectacular

The worst thing about this park is the sparse information on their website. They have 35 campsites. One through 19 are supposedly by reservation only. 20 through 35 our first come first serve. There is rarely an attendant there so you have to go to the kiosk which is to the right after you pass the entrance. You don’t need to pay at the entrance to park if you were going to camp overnight. Goto the second kiosk by the bathrooms/showers and pay there after you have already set up in your spot. I talked to several people in the reserved camping section and they had not reserved. They just pulled in at night and picked a spot that was open. The park itself is quite busy during the day, but a quiet down after sunset. The campsites are very close to each other, especially in the reserved section. Up in the first come first serve section there are at least bushes that separate you from adjacent campers.
I stayed for five days at $20 a night. The showers are clean, the water is hot and has good pressure.

Beautiful place with so many options of things to do. Kayak, paddle board, frisbee golf, drive RC cars, hike, rock climb, swim, have a picnic, the options are endless. The line to get in was long but only $3 day pass is a deal. Super dog friendly! Will definitely be back when in the area.
