Jacob's Music Shoppe is a very nice store and the owners are knowledgeable and kind. Upon walking in, I saw the Fender Stratocaster I've been looking for and I'm so happy with my purchase. From here on, all of my guitar gear will be purchased from them. Definitely a five star experience.

I gave my guitar in for a string change. I was told that I had to wait 1 week, maximum 2 weeks, which was OK with me, even though i thought it was long. In the end, I got a call after 3.5 weeks (!) that the guitar finally got ready. I know they are a private shop, but you should not make your customers wait that long if the labor time takes only 20 minutes.

Pricewise, it was OK. Had my own strings with me, so they charged 1h total for changing it and adapting the string height. Turned into a 55$ expense...

Overall, they do know their guitar stuff, but next time, I'm not willing to wait 1 month to have my instrument back.

OK so here's a different kind of review. Being a guitar shop and luthier it may seem strange to leave a review for another shop and honestly a first for me. I try to stop in when I can and catch a guitar that I like in their shop. Had an SJ200 catch my eye but truly I only need one SJ. I was playing the SJ that they had and really liked the guitar when I was told they had a Martin D-35 50 on the wall. The performing Artist neck profile on those guitars is catnip to me and I have a DCPa3 that I have used since 2011. Picked up the guitar and it played very well as they tend to do. One luthier to another gotta say great job setting it up John! The first guitar in a long while that even my picky self did not have to do anything to as far as setting it up. Working out a deal was a pleasure and brought it home. When I purchase a guitar from another shop it has to be a goog guitar and good folks. Nuff said!

This place is dangerous (in a good way) I was there today and played several very nice guitars, talked to the knowledgeable staff for awhile and was seriously tempted by a terrific little Taylor instrument. I neglected to do what I actually went in for, which was to see whether they had any mic stands in stock. I will certainly visit again soon!

Decent selection of most things, I will say they definitely overcharge for strings of any sort. It's like the cost of strings plus about 75-100% of the price. It would be cheaper to drive to Tucson and buy strings from a big retailer or order online.

Everything went great in my business dealings with them until I went to their bank to cash their check. The bank did not want to cash it- they made me wait 20 minutes while the teller had a conference with the manager. Long story short National Bank charged me $8.00 for the privilege of getting real money. I was to get $400 for my guitar but I only got $392 this is not fair. I think Jacob should give me the 8 dollars to make it right but he will not pay in money, only checks. This is not right.

Though I miss the previous owner, The new owners are great. Very helpful, friendly and great to speak with. I've purchased a guitar and quite a few other things and completely happy with the service I received. Support a small local business! need something they don't have, they can order it for you!
