I've had a great experience learning about music through Evie Huang Music Studio.

I had quite a bit of experience playing violin as a child, and now as an adult, I wanted to learn some piano with Evie. I currently go to their studio once a week for lessons. Listening for the right pitch and music theory has always been harder for me, but Evie and her husband Matt are some of the best teachers in the area.

They actually not only teach high-level piano and violin, but Evie specializes in double bass and Matt in trumpet. Both at the professional orchestra symphony level.

Evie's super knowledgeable, patient but firm, and you can tell she has a lot of experience and a passion for the art. I feel what makes her special is she has a great pace when demonstrating things, and it's in a very concise and deliberate manner.

Matt has a wealth of experience and has taught me a lot about music theory. He's very intuitive and smart. I think he's extremely attuned and aware of what students need and when they aren't understanding something. And like Evie, he's able to break things down, but in a detailed fashion.

They host a large recital (mainly for their younger students). Some of them are really good.

Both my sons (age 10 & 8) have been going to Ms. Evie for approximately 6 months and I can see a huge difference in their piano skills from their previous lessons especially the younger one. Although we always try to honor our scheduled lesson slot during the week, Ms. Evie has always been very accommodating and great to work with in terms of scheduling make up lessons when needed which I know other teachers absolutely do not do makeup lessons. Overall my boys are learning a lot and very happy learning from Ms. Evie and we have no plans to change that anytime soon.

My daughter has been with Evie learning piano since she was six. Over the years, the communication with Evie is always pleasant and effective. She tailors her teaching style based on student's need and each family's goal of music studying. For us, we can see how it has evolved over the years as our daughter grows up to a middle schooler. Evie has the magic of making learning and practice fun, but she is also strict and detail oriented when it comes to techniques and musicality. Now in addition to piano, my daughter also learns cello with Evie. She really enjoys it. We had another cello teacher before Evie. My daughter said she learned more things from Evie in one week than she did from her previous teacher in a year.
