Every time I go to San Diego Music Studio I'm reminded of why I keep coming back. The staff there is so friendly and kind. Their repair turnaround time is always faster than another popular San Marcos instrument rental/repair spot. I love that when I call them they pick up the phone and are able to answer my questions, and when I go into their store, they're always super nice. What a fantastic business!

I did a lot of research of where to rent a instrument when my daughter started band last year. San Diego Music Studio was responsive and answered all my questions. I went with the premium protection plan because I know my daughter would be good to the instrument, but accidents do happen. Because I had the plan they cleaned and checked the instrument during the summer break. I can’t say enough about how happy I am with the San Diego Music Studio and plan on using them through out this band journey.

David Montoya is an excellent flute teacher, motivating and positive. My flute required some maintenance, and he was able to find the issues and do the repairs quickly.

Wonderful place to get an instrument. I love the popcorn when you walk in and the friendly customer service. The staff is all so genuinely kind and very very knowledgeable here. I appreciate the selection, the fast repair turnaround times, the option to use practice rooms and of course the yummy snacks! Every experience I’ve had here with my son has been fantastic! Truly a great place to get an instrument and to get things repaired. Special shout-out to Fidellia and the beautiful long haired brunette with glasses that are such a pleasure to work with!

So I've been searching for a 1/4 violin for my son and it seems like a lot of music stores just don't have inventory. And if they had it, it was for rent only. Well, this store does! And its pretty much a one stop shop. I've been also looking for a shoulder rest for him and this store had exactly what I was looking for (and tons of them to be exact).

Their rental prices per month were also the cheapest around town. They have a "rent to own" type of thing where if you end up paying the price of the violin, you just get to keep it. Kinda cool. Also, this store pays attention to the small details. So many stores have untuned violins on display. Their violins on display are tuned!!! How refreshing.

Anyways, the store looks small, but is huge inside. We came around school band season and they had tons (and I mean tons) of instruments laying around for kids and their school bands.

Tons of selection for sheet music too. They had a Super mario songs book for piano which my kids gravitated towards. Anything to make them want to learn music. It'll be my future music purchase once they can read notes.

They also offer lessons inside the store which is nice. We live a little too far for lessons, but if we lived closer, I would definitely be coming here for lessons.

Clean store, and super friendly staff who know their music and you can ask them questions about any instruments. David was super friendly and helpful!

This store CARES!! ...about you. ...about your kid. ...about their school's music program. And they will do everything they can to make your experience the best that they can provide!

Years of piano lessons, over a decade of supporting our school district's bands and orchestras, and a team of employees who are knowledgeable and friendly makes this little shop the absolute BEST in all of North County (or, dare I say, the county!).

San Diego Music Studio is the best. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is so chill. And It's always a delight to visit. My kids are in band, so we need to visit fairly often for instrument repairs or spare reeds. They always know what to do. Definitely recommend!!

Absolutely horrible MY experience. IT seems like they are stealing money from us. they are putting us IN collection. the manager screamed at my mom for not paying the money when she told the manager she could pay i right now. But what did the manager do? She kept on screaming. That's what I hate, so don't rent from here, and if the manager sees this, never scream at my mother ever again.
