We enjoy having our 7 year old child attend Leading Notes in San Marcos to learn the drums. The teachers are knowledgeable and the place is very organized and clean. The staff are really helpful.

The only thing I would change is the makeup policy so students could have more time to use their make up lessons. Right now, if you call off greater than 24 hours, you receive a make up lesson that you have to use within 2 months. It is difficult to find a spot due to the availability of teachers and schedules that don't always work out (for example my child attends public school so we are limited in the time frame after school or Saturday). We've been attending for only 3 months and didn't know this rule so they were able to extend my time period to find an open time to do makeup lessons for one more month.

All the teachers are super nice. My 5 years old daughter loves it here. All front desk ladies are super nice and friendly too. They are always ready to answer and help. I am looking forward to many years here.

My kids have taken piano, guitar and musical theater and we love all of them! Each of their instructors is great, both in proficiency and in their attitude! Because of Leading Note, our family is loving playing music together, and as a pastor, I’ve even had the opportunity to play music with my kids in church!

I would not advise this school in San Marcos location for anyone who wants their child to learn music. God forbid, if your child is not a genius or like minded. My 10 year old daughter went to this school and the teacher suggested her to change her lessons from string (guitar) to drums as she was having difficulties remembering chords. After changing to drums she had positive feedback from teacher and the suddenly one day he got upset and told us that she is having difficulty with drums. No practice video or material was provided.
Also, no awards were provided as it typically is as the classes progress. Overall the worst place if you want to be nurtured.
I have switched my child to Encinitas location a few weeks back and she seems to be happier with her teacher there.

All four of my kids love taking lessons at Leading Note Studios! Two take piano and two take guitar, and they are all excelling because of the encouraging and positive environment at this studio. All of their teachers are amazing and take a personal interest in them. The recitals are such a great experience for them and they have gained so much confidence. My daughter has also participated in the theater program and had a wonderful experience. She and my oldest son are excited to do the musical theater class again this Spring. Customer service is wonderful and everyone is always very kind and helpful. We are so thankful for this studio!

This is the best place ever! My daughter absolutely loves her guitar instructor and she's quickly learning to love music at just 12 years old. We bought a 4 pack of lessons and she's hooked.
If you're considering lessons here rest assured that it's a super clean and safe environment. The staff is very friendly and professional and all of the students seem to really love the community they've built here.
Great job Leading Note Studios we will be signing up again for sure!

My daughter has been taking piano, voice and musical theater classes at Leading Notes Studio for the past 18 months and can’t get enough of it. She absolutely adores her instructor Ms. Kirra. She encouragers her to take risk and pushes her out of her comfort zone. It’s amazing to see how much she has grown through this experience!

Our 4.5year old is loving his music lessons with Mr. Chad! Given his interest in drums, Chad has been the perfect teacher for him to learn and explore music fundamentals and rhythm while peaking interest in the drums! He’s excited to go every week and we love to see that.
