I guess it depends on which day you go. Tuesday I was there for strings and mentioned I was in the market for an acoustic/electric for gigging because some of my guitars aren't allowed to leave the house. The gentlemen who was there was very informative and helpful. He told me to come back and check out their guitars when I had time.
I walked in there today with a pocket full of money, prepared to buy local and got zero help. Someone said "hello" to me when I walked in, that was it. I even waited until I was the only person in the store.....crickets. I needed some help, just a couple questions and I would have been ready to rock and roll. I can get the same guitar anywhere. I wanted to start to build a relationship with this place as my frequency of gigging increases. Buying equipment, having my set-ups done there, etc.... Being able to get a product anywhere, I am going to go where there is consistency and folks that care. Maybe it was just a bad day for them, but it sure was a different place on Tuesday.

I just got off the phone with Ace drums and I found them that my guitar broke and then he was huffing and puffing privately now the store may have been busy that's here nor there explain to him that I have cancer and it's my last guitar I'm going to buy so I asked him if he had a 3/4 size he said yes but then I asked him what is it available in blue he knows what he has so he set to me listen you're killing me lady who says that anyway he was like straight up rude to me before I even called they may have a 4.7 because of their lessons and whoever teaches them but the person who answered the phone when I called hey was either a worker that was extremely rude or the owner cuz he thinks he can say whatever he wants since I called and I was already being rude to the point where I will never Grace his doors

Prices are about average. I take Bass lessons there, the instructor Jud is a great instructor. After 28 lessons (30 minutes) I am able to play 10 + songs.
Ken and his staff are very user friendly with great attitudes.

I came to Ace Drums in need of a new guitar cable. What I left with was a plethora of music/instrument related information and a new favorite music store. Everyone I've met so far has been welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful, and wildly amusing, all at the same time. Despite the name, there is no shortage of other instruments and accessories; a french horn was walking out the door as I was walking in for my guitar needs (to a "drum" store).

Pete went through an entire set up on my Les Paul and explained everything he was checking and why. I never had a bad job done at Guitar Center, but I've certainly never received that level of attention, especially when I wasn't there to spend a lot of money. This was the least expensive (by far) and best done (also by far) set up I've had done on one of my guitars.

All-in-all, this is a true local community music store with lessons and repairs for almost ages (4-87, I believe), skill level, or instrument. If you're local or even passing through, you should definitely stop by and support Ace Drums.
