The AJHoF was under renovation for a very long time but just before Christmas of 2022, it opened up for a Jazz concert for the first time in 6 years. The entrance is now much brighter, bigger, and feels like a inviting but efficient place to cater to an audience. The concert (Curtis Lundi) was top notch and I am looking forward for the AJHoF to once again become a vital part of Birmingham's music scene.

Jazz Hall Radio formerly WVSU has significantly changed it's "Smooth Jazz" programing to a blend of classical jazz with some Smooth Jazz mixed in. At least when the Tuxedo Junction hour was scheduled you knew what was coming so you could listen to this type of Jazz or change the station. Then, You could later switch back when 'Smooth Jazz' was back on. After many years of listening to WVSU I'm sorry to see them morph to blended genres of Jazz. Oh, well there's always the 'Serious Jazz Radio'option.

This is something like a museum, devoted to the greatest jazz artists. It's actually both educational and entertaining, especially in the beginning with boogie woogie! The laugh is guaranteed!
