Lincoln, CA, is a town north of Sacramento. It’s a small town with lots of local history. Like every town, it has a downtown area. But unlike most towns, Lincoln has preserved most of their smallish downtown. It functions with retail businesses. The area dates back to the mid 1800s. The downtown is anchored by the Gladding McBean clay factory (established in 1875) and still operating today, albeit at a much smaller scale.

The Beermann Plaza is named after the Beermann family that opened up a harness and saddle shop in 1880 on 6th and F streets. The son, Charles, became the city treasurer in 1892. The current plaza was dedicated in 1991. It’s a smallish plaza with a water fountain, outdoor art display picnic tables, grassy area, and small shade trees. Small town charm without big city madness. The plaza hosts community events. The Rotary club is hosting the 2025 Lincoln wine fest in April. Surrounding the plaza is the Lincoln Archives Museum, Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, and several restaurants.
