I recently had the pleasure of recording at Black Sparrow, and I can confidently say this place is top-notch! I recommend any local artist and especially musicians who not only want to improve but appreciate an environment for creativity to record here. I’ve had a few recordings sessions here and have never felt more comfortable creating. Not only are your ideas taken into account you also receive constructive criticism that will improve your skill, and it’s only to make the product something you can be proud of. I’ve learned a ton in my short amount of time recording here, because the engineers go out of their way to aid your vision and help you get there, they also provide knowledge if you’re unclear on all the terms and technicalities of audio recording. They can record all genres, and will mix your record to your satisfaction so feel free to bring notes and ideas and watch them come to life.

EJ is a very talented, skilled and kind recording engineer. He works quickly (respecting we’re on the clock) and provides helpful feedback during the sessions. I had an incredible experience with EJ McCloud at Black Sparrow Studios today! We did a live show at Troll Music and needed a good mix that was recorded from the board when we performed! EJ was so quick… so easy to work with and made it such a pleasant and supportive experience! I’m very impressed with his knowledge of sound and music! I brought my percussionist and my bass player… they too were amazed! This is such a warm and sweet sound studio! EJ was so welcoming! His rates are reasonable and very fair! His ability to translate what you want to hear is top notch! And did I mention quick?
I plan on doing an album here with this man and my band! I look forward to working with EJ again and recording some of my original songs at Black Sparrow! I can’t wait to hear the sound he can get with a good studio mic compared to a live performance! If he made my live performance sound so good I can only imagine what recording in his studio would be like. I’ve tried many studios around Sarasota and never felt as comfortable!
EJ will be the guy to help make my dream come true of recording my original songs. I think I found my musical home with Black Sparrow Studios and Troll Music! Both places are hidden treasures and I feel so lucky to have stumbled upon both!!

Black Sparrow Studios is such a cool professional studio in North Port Florida. E.J. was such a pleasure to work with, he answered all my questions in a timely manner. He had great suggestions for my full length CD " My Pet Peeves " He also played drums and percussion on a few songs for me. He helped with bringing in other musicians. All in all this was a GREAT experience. After all the recording was done he worked with me and got my music on the streaming platforms and helped me order CD's. Great guy, very talented. I will definitely be coming back to Black Sparrow Studios!
