Blue Crab Festival is held at such a beautiful location by the St Johns River in downtown. Palatka! There are so many food trucks to choose from, a large area of rides, excellent bands & entertainment, historical markers to walk trails & enjoy being outside, the playground for the kids. I even saw a live camel ride by the pony rides. I went to watch a fiend's grandkids perform with Showtime dancers & it was amazing. So many dance routines with the cute little ones through teenagers who really know their routines. They did a touching grand finale of "I'm proud to be an American" that had people singing alone & brought tears to my eyes seeing the American crowd join together. I loved the brass band group on stage just before Showtime that had Riders in their name. Different types of music to choose from & fireworks at night. There are plenty of big tents and places to sit at tables in shade. The breezes off the river help cool despite the hot sun. I live in walking distance but there seemed to be plenty of easy parking with places like the Baptist Church taking $5 donations. We are so lucky to have this yearly event in Palatka.

Omg I'm so impressed by how much this festival has improved over the years. I used to have to drive all the way to the Jacksonville Jazz festival now my friends from jax drive to my little city to enjoy themselves Memorial Day Weekend. First Genuine and The original Walers then the Yin-Yang twins and this year Trick Daddy and 95 south. My friends already asking me if I know who coming in 2025. I hope it's Fantasia, Jagged Edge or T-Pain or all of the above

Yes, there are vendors and live music acts and food. I concentrated on the live water skiing event and everyday use of this beautiful area on the St. John's River in Palatka, FL.

We went to the festival 5/25/24 and it was great. Family affair, everyone friendly, not overly crowded, food was good, music was fine. Parking was easy to find. Could of had more direction signs. We will go back next year.

It's something to get out and do. It is set up pretty well for a medium sized venue. Lots of food choices most are costly. The vendors are very friendly and engaged with the patrons! If you do go it's kinda on one street and will be more fun if you walk one side up and the other side back. Parking is everywhere mostly free some paid (don't pay)and the walk normally short to get to the event. This year we parked on the bridge and had to walk about 200 yards at most. The live music has great variety (check website for shows and times)and something for everyone and I've never been disappointed with any of the bands.
