I have had the pleasure of working with Alex at Hermosa Sound Lab over the past year of recording parts of my upcoming record. We tracked drums, bass, acoustic guitars and vocals at HSL and each experience was uniquely special. The value of having Alex there to engineer the recording alongside my producer and myself was unparalleled. He is professional, friendly and has everything set up upon arrival. Alex takes time beforehand to research the optimal setup of mics and mic placement to achieve the recording goal for the day prior to us getting into the studio. I have nothing but great things to say about working with Alex and Claire from HSL. They go above and beyond with pre production, post production and everything in-between. Hermosa Sound Lab is absolutely beautiful, clean and sounds insane. I’ve hired Alex for live recording and mixing at my shows, rented the space at HSL to film live videos while Alex runs and records sound and have rented full PA equipment from them where both Claire and Alex do all set up, micing, break down and run live sound for live shows at 3 different locations. They are next to none, cannot recommend them enough.

Alex and his team made recording fun. I’ve been a songwriter for years, but finally bit the bullet and recorded a bunch of songs with Alex. His relaxed nature, his professionalism, and his beautiful facility made all of it a breeze. I have done three EP/LP recording projects with the Hermosa Sound Lab team over the past six years and have been delighted with the results each time. The studio is first rate with a fantastic live room, perfect for acoustic drum kits and acoustic instruments. Vocal booth is control room adjacent for superior feedback and cueing and is sonically tight. The equipment compliment for almost any application is abundant and both vintage and modern and the studio hospitality is excellent.

Alex Lockwood, Co-Owner and Chief Sound Engineer, produced all my tracks and provides an expertise in miking, mixing and mastering you just can't duplicate with amateur and home studios. Claire runs the business end of the studio and keeps the myriad of moving parts in a project on-time and on budget.
Their rates are very competitive.

If you are considering laying down tracks for demo or for a full production project or even doing voiceovers, you can't go wrong with Hermosa Sound Lab!
