We stayed at one of the cabins on the ranch for a birthday and new years getaway. The cabin is highly recommended for anybody looking to escape out to nature. The cabin itself was beautiful. A very intimate open plan allows you to really spend time with your group, and no TV either!! The views were fantastic, and don't forget to look up at the stars! Brandi, the host, was also great to work with in leading up to our stay. Brandi was very responsive and enthusiastic. We were unaware of the local amenities, but it turned out to be great also. You are not too far from Glen Rose for any grocery needs. There are ample walks and hikes, and the Dino State Park to explore as well.

I'm not sure about the retreat part. But there is a family graveyard, davis cemetary. My boyfriend recently passed away and that's where he is laid to rest. So I try and visit every sunday. It's so beautiful up there.

If you want a nice place to hike near Glen Rose, this place is great. Dinosaur Valley state park turned me away on Memorial Day afternoon, so I was looking for another place in the area ro hike. High Hope was wonderful.

High Hope Ranch is a gorgeous getaway in the far off rolling hills southwest of Dallas. There is wifi access, but the location is very remote. Parking is available. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. In a few of the mansions, the beds are in an open area arrangement, but some do have private bedrooms. One of the mansions, called Kasa Kasa, has a jacuzzi and sauna as well.
