Dipnetting is a magical time of year where the salmon run strong, the Alaskans camp on the beach, and you stand in cold water for hours and hours to fill your freezer with that sweet red meat. ?

You can park and camp along the road/beach for free. We’ve never had to pay for anything. There’s porta potties in a couple places. There’s an RV campground down there too that sells ice and things. We went July 26-27th and caught 18 salmon or so in 8 hours, and that was just one person with a net in the water at a time.

If you’re a resident or qualify for dipnetting in Alaska, this is a must!

It is very interesting to see the salmon run and local dip netters. Ample room for camping, canopies, and campfires. I think it would help keep the beach area cleaner if there were trash cans around the beach access areas. They did have dumpsters and Porta potties close to the entrance.

Great place to fish, the only draw back is if you camp out for the night are loud inconsiderate people who are too loud at night after 1am to 5am partying. Bring ear protection to cancel noise.

My very first time dipnetting ever! I loved fishing and camping here! The atmosphere was very happy and friendly. It was not super crowded and fish was coming in. Maybe because I went during the week. Met a few people that have been fishing here for years and new fishermens also.

Good ness ..... So much too much to do. Beautiful sunset each day sunrise also . I am catching up with my travels , review wise . Everything is shocking out there ? especially the outhouses shock either purchase you're own portable potty or enough of that. Fishing , netting was bringing in really beautiful fish.
