Wine, music & food - makes for an impeccable combination

I had the immense fortune of attending the 18th Live in the Vineyard, held twice a year. The brainchild of Claire Parr & Bobbii Hach-Jacobs as a way to legitimately write off their wine purchases, not to mention celebrate their combined passion with an infusion of the nation's hottest artists, world class chefs & renown wineries. They both have worked many years in the music industry, influencing the careers of a variety of singers & songwriters.

Day 1
The Opening Grand Pour reception was held in the Solera Courtyard at the Westin Verasa Napa. Appetizers were prepared by Chef Ken Frank from La Toque Restaurant.

20 wineries (plus Stella Artois) kept the libations flowing to quench our thirsts.

Day 3
On our last day, we were shuttled to Liana Estates winery for brunch & a special performance by Idina Menzel.

Joy Bauer, Today Show Nutrition & Health expert, gave us healthy tips

Idina Menzel sang like a bird in an absolutely stunning location. She sang "Defying Gravity", a song from Rent, and some songs from her upcoming album. Inexplicably & unfortunately, she didn't sing "Let it Go". D'oh! Maybe Disney controls where their intellectual property is performed, or she's maybe just over the song by now. Either way, I was a bit perturbed. But, she sang magically.

What a tremendous experience! I had a great time reveling in all the LITV festivities & exploring Napa for the first time. We were given nifty schwag bags to commemorate our time there. UPS, an LITV sponsor, provided free Next Day Air shipping labels, with our hotels packaging our bags for us. Truly an enjoyable weekend in beautiful Napa, I'll cherish the 18th Live in the Vineyard for a long time.
