How to even thank my incredible engineer music mixing master crafter and give him the credit he truly deserves!!!
Mike Post is absolutely genius.
He is not only someone who put me at ease instantly in every recording session but made me sound beautiful and captured the retro sound I was also going for with my album based on a vintage folk singer. He was open to EVERY idea and enthusiastic with trying them as well. He is truly a team player and a wonderful musician too!
Yes! Mike also added a perfect harmony on the Wurlitzer for one of the songs and played classical guitar and mandolin on some of my other tracks. He elevated those recordings to another level of sound beauty.
I am truly grateful I somehow found this talented human.
I can’t wait for my album to come out so I can not only share the songs I love but also share Moosecat Recording with those in need of a BRILLIANT engineer, musician and yes mixer too!
Mike is also the kindest down to earth person. I felt immediately at home upon walking into his clean, beautiful, comfortable studio.

Excellent place to record!! Mike, the engineer is extremely skilled in capturing a nuanced sound using top of the line microphones and a nice selection of amps, keyboards, pedals, etc…. If you are prepared with your music you can get a lot done in a day as he is a wizard with the recording software and wastes no time. It’s a comfortable environment and everyone there is good vibes 😎 I couldn’t recommend it more.

What a great experience! My band wanted a vintage/analog feel for our EP so we were so stoked to be able to record it all on tape while using vintage gear. Mike is a great engineer who treated our project with respect, care and professionalism. I highly recommend using Moosecat for any of your recording needs… plus, if you’re lucky Carly will make you some amazing homemade cookies which will make the experience that much better!

I've done many of sessions at MooseCat and it's always one of the welcoming environments to be in. I've seen them handle indie rock, R&B, acoustic, funk, hip hop, hard rock, string quartet, you name it! Super versatile, and always open to doing whatever it takes to get the right sound for whatever project I've been a part of there! The gear is top notch, but the engineer Mike Post is what makes everything pop. They're super friendly, and always take care of their clients!

MooseCat is an exceptional studio! I've recorded with them on multiple projects with varying sound needs, and the room is always dialed in on point for each different style and set up. It's a professional work environment that's also a very personable experience. Recommend with 3 thumbs up! Oh also the chocolate chip cookies are bomb (and vegan? what). Really dope spot in LA for all musicians to record. I love the ambiance and the atmosphere of the place. Everything is provided for you as well from instruments, provides a great acoustic sound, and great hospitality as well. I will be returning back for my next recording session and did I mention very affordable too! 👍🏾

My relationship with MooseCat Recording began with an album recording in 2017 and I've been a fan and a client ever since! If you're looking for a studio that marries modern digital know-how with the very best vintage equipment and gear in a relaxed, creative environment that is super artist friendly, MooseCat is the place. It would be impossible to rave about Mike and Carly enough in this short space, so hit their website or book a visit. Oh ... and they also do virtual and remote sessions? What? MooseCat is like if everything good about 1976 had a baby with everything good about modern tech and stayed cool while doing it! Love this studio!
