The parade hasn't happened in years and a lot of vendors have stopped coming. Definitely seems to need more organization and they should block traffic on 179South from Swamp Creek to the parking fields just off 111 bc it is SO dangerous with all the pedestrian traffic. These pics were from the Friday before.

Love it!! We have gone to Mule Day every few years for many years now. Great to see some "handmade/specialty items" from vendors still there. Love to find things we can't find in a store. Sad to see the mules gone. Less vendors overall than last time we went a few years back.

This was the 50th anniversary of the Mule Day festival. I am sad to report the festival has been in a state of decline, for the past few years. Having spoke to one of the members of the local (Cairo) Lions club members, that besides all other factors, the underlying reason is the passing of a number of their members. If anyone in the area near Calvary GA. Can get involved in the Lions Club, it would be a worthwhile effort.
The festival recently, over the years, had attracted over 400 vendors, a parade, and a number of competitions, and an attendance of 50 thousand people.
It takes a ton of effort to do this event, along with time and money. Please if you can involve yourself with this.

Mule Day was amazing. There was a museum in the first store ever in Calvary !! The museum was AWESOME!! But absolutely NO black people were represented and that part was an embarrassment and a shame but lovely photos!

This festival has a huge number of vendors over hundreds of acres. There were the usual fair foods and brick a brack. The mule events were in a small area way in the back. The parade was worth watching. I'm glad I went but will probably not go back.

Our family enjoys the camping with friends for the weekend. The wife likes to shop the arts and crafts there.
