Nelson Family Vineyards was fantastic. Some of the best wine we have had - served by the friendliest tasting room hosts(Robin and Theresa) we have ever encountered. Sitting in the shade of some 30 redwood trees was lovely, too. Cheese, crackers, good wine, and a gentle breeze with the sun coming down on you - what's not to like?
We stayed on the property through our Harvest Host membership. We would have never experienced this delightful day. The stars and the quiet were great. We're looking forward to returning someday. Whenever it is, it will be worth the drive. Highly recommended.

We've been coming here everytime when friends and family are in town. Love the wide selection of wine especially traditional red blend that they crafted by the members. Shannon is always my favorite staff. Love the property and atmosphere feel like home. Highly recommend.

This winery not only has an amazing selection from dessert wines to red wines but it has the best person to guide you through all of the amazing selections that they offer. I was so impressed by Sharon’s knowledge on the wine and on how welcomed she made my family and I feel. I personally loved the sweet wines and feel that this winery is a hidden gem. I def will be coming back!! I loved the view and had the best experience.

Amazing place! We did a wine tasting, $10 for 5 tastes with the fee waived if you make a purchase! The wines were delicious. Really great sitting area and a picnic area in a cluster of redwoods. So beautiful! Also, the pear butter was amazing. We got a jar and put it on brie and crackers, unbelievable!

Stopped here on the way to Mendocino! Being my first Wine Tasting, this was a wonderful experience. The hostess, Barbara was great and the redwood forest backyard was filled with woodpeckers and other birds.

Leda and I went with some friends to Nelson for our first wine tasting adventure ever and it was amazing! Very comfortable environment, friendly staff and nice outdoor seating to relax and talk with other guests. Great history and amazing wine! The landscape was breath taking even in the winter with no leaves on the vines. We will be back for the Barn Blend competition for sure!!
