Matt was a joy to do business with. He came to my apartment and gave me a fair price for records, CDs and even some tapes. He was upfront and honest and I can’t recommend him highly enough. Definitely check out his storefront for an eclectic mix of genres. Thanks Matt!

I hadn’t had a turntable or played my collection of records for over 30 years. I was more interested in passing them along to someone who appreciated them rather than the dollar value (mostly low) I could sell them for. Sent Matt at Originals Vinyl a note to which he enthusiastically responded to and was off to San Francisco to find a new home for my albums. The vibe of the store was clean, professional and uncluttered. Record albums are appreciated here and Matt was friendly and genuinely interested in what my two boxes might hold. I appreciated the turntable spinning great local music making me wish I could lounge awhile to take it all in. I decided to leave my collection so Matt could thoughtfully go through them.
When he called back the next day to let me know I had some winners he wanted to purchase I was thrilled! I was going to have a great lunch and fill my gas tank with the money although I felt best about giving the music I loved a new home.
I had the best experience with Matt who seemed more curator than salesperson. My daughter who tagged along that day thought the store was a gem and Matt was someone special. I wouldn’t be surprised if a new turntable and a trip to Originals Vinyl is in my future plans.

One of the best record stores in San Francisco! Parking is a chore around here since the store is located near Hayes Valley, but it's worth driving around until you find a spot because you will be treated to some top vinyl finds. Originals Vinyl has some of the best jazz records available. Looking for Hank Mobley, Lee Morgan, John Coltrane? How about a little Monk or Art Pepper? They probably have some copies that most stores are craving for. NOTE: if you are a reseller, you will not find a bargain here. Most of the records are either right around Discog average or higher. But, you will find copies of LPs here in pristine condition. Expect to pay $15 to $30 for a high quality jazz or rock record. I usually drop around $60 - $150 each time I visit. The Siracusa brothers (the owners) are very sociable and helpful and knowledgeable about music. If you are a serious collector, as myself, it's worth your time to visit Originals Vinyl, but bring your MasterCard or Visa, you'll need it because you won't walk out with only one record!

What an amazing place. Great selection of soul, jazz and hip hop. All records in great condition. I'll be back next time I'm in SF!
