THIS IS A SCAM. IF YOU GET AN AUDITION HERE, DO NOT GO. I was previously cast in a "play" which I was contacted about following my audition for a student film on LAcasting. The "director" never showed up for the audition. But good old Rose did. Rose claims to be the casting director for Chris Berube and for all auditions that are hosted there, but the dirty little secret that they never tell you is that Chris Berube runs everything and they make all actors work for free on productions that you will never get paid for, and that nobody will ever come see. Once they get your email and phone number, they will continue to contact you despite you telling them not to. Google Chris Berube and The Actors Studio Theater and you'll see what I mean.

This COULD BE an awesome place. It's wonderful for students to workshop something they've created or for new directors to have a chance to begin working with actors. However, being part of a production is the absolute biggest joke. I was under the impression that I was coming into a production that was already on it's feet and just needed an extra cast member, but this was far from the case. The rehearsals that were only supposed to span 6 weeks lasted 10 and we NEVER had a rehearsal with the full cast or even a true dress rehearsal. Over the course of rehearsal 4 actors dropped and needed to be replaces. Also don't come expecting to have a role it seems that they cast on the fly which caused huge quick change issues in our play. I would NEVER recommend an actor to this place.

This new lovely little community theater just relocated here from Hollywood and its lovely to see any sort of creative arts coming to the community. Hard work of these dedicated people means you can see small intimate productions year round or even be in one! Please support local, and arts!

I’m so grateful for Rose & Chris! I was in two theater productions here. I learned a lot and had a blast acting in the plays. It was so much fun to work with them and I would work with them again in the future for sure! 🙂
