I love how clean it is and the rooms are quite comfy. Very nice for rehearsals. Been here a bit of times with my church band and honesty we have never really had a problem. The bathrooms have questionable graffiti but still very nice. If I can I would definitely come back for recordings

PIRATE offers an awesome service for small musicians and DJs looking for a place to practice/rehearse. Reservation rates are cheaper earlier in the day, so if you are morning person you’re in luck. I booked a DJ room which had two CDJ 2000 NXS2 that were in decent condition, but the mixer was not in very good condition. The mixer was missing fader, and other faders were loose. I understand that these are very well loved pieces of equipment, but it would be nice to see all buttons and faders functioning properly. ‼️NOTE: they do not provide any cables for the DJ equipment, so if you plan on using RekordBox on your laptop, you must bring three USB A cables and a powered USB hub that you can connect to your laptop. Overall, I would give it four out of five stars. Having the ability to directly speak with a staff member in person about problems would be nice and would warrant a 5/5 review. If you have any problems, you will need to access the live chat on the pirate website, which is very robotic but does work.

Always seems to have an issue.
I've booked several sessions here at pirate studios to record drums, all but one of 7 sessions has had some kind of issue in the booth. Whether it be a broken drum head, cracked cymbals, no working power in the room, or fire alarms; pirate always knows how to respond: by not giving you any form of consideration and saying you should've called sooner.
Outside of the many issues of not having someone work there in person, it's alright I guess. The soundproofing between rooms isn't the best but it isn't the worst either. Not ideal for recording unless no one else is there

Great place to get a rehearsal in! Pretty clean. No smoking so the room are great condition. Codes for the rooms so no one can interrupt the jam session. Parking is limited in the alley so plan to park along Vineyard if there isn’t anymore spots.

I recently went to Pirate studios for the first time and I tried out both the recording studio and the DJ booth. I just have to say this place was incredibly clean and covid safe, and the self check in allowed for a super smooth process of getting in and using the gear quickly. The tech was all brand new and super up to date. I blasted the speakers and still wasn't disturbing anyone else.

The mini dance floor in the DJ booth was the perfect spot to dance to loud house music, which is something I was missing so much during covid. Absolutely book one of these places to vibe super hard and leave feeling refreshed and excited about music.

We had issues from the start and the fact that they do not have a person physically present makes it challenging to have functional equipment readily available for a quick start to rehearsal. Multiple times I had to chat with someone on WhatsApp, only to have to wait about 45 mins for them to move us to another room which took another 30 mins to set up into a new space. About 90 mins in, we finally started to practice so we lost a lot of time. Renters beware that you have to be prepared to need to chat on WhatsApp right a way if you have any issues with equipment, with fuses, with lighting or with getting codes to work. Sorry to say that we will not be rehearsing here any longer.

had me falsely arrested with lies about a restraining order that hadn't been granted, because the judge deemed it way too overboard for a situation, in which I hurt or harmed no one, nevertheless the site manager doctored up a fake restraining order and had me, a. black trans girl that's 120 pounds soaking wet, wrongly arrested, all in the name of hating actual talent, if u care about ur career steer clear, this place is about to burn like the rest of la anyways
