The essential Portsmouth experience. The energy is amazing when everyone gathers around these amazing shows right by the river, and it just feels so special. The actors were all wonderful, there was plenty of food and drinks available as well as seating, the sound design was perfect (easy to clearly hear whereas it's sometimes difficult with indoor venues) and it was just a fantastic experience. Even though it did rain halfway through (no one's fault there) they were super accommodating with helping us with options afterwards. Highly recommended.

We saw Legally Blond last Saturday night. The production was fabulous. We arrived late & did have a side view. We saw Footloose a cpl of yrs back & it was also great. This time we brought my brother & wife & I am glad it lived up to our accolades. It was worh the trip from Rhode Island. Portsmouth, you are the best!!!

We made key errors for what should have been an excellent night.
1) We arrived 10 minutes before show started so had no view of the stage. Arrive at least 60 minutes early.
2) We thought we would just buy dinner here. My wife joined the line at 6:55 PM. It's now 8 and she's still waiting. Pack your dinner.

So, while I've been hanging around waiting to help her carry all the food back to our grandkids, I've photographed stunning flower gardens and snapped some of the stage.

So, this review is only 3 stars but that's our own fault. It seems to be an excellent production, the sound is good, the stage design is awesome. We are just so far back that we are disconnected.

Next time we will know and be smarter about things.

What a gorgeous setting!

Nice park near the water with restrooms, scheduled performances, beautiful flower garden with waterfountains. Come to picnic for the afternoon, take a stroll with the dog or kids, see music performances or plays on the stage. Snack bar on premises. Parking is outside of the park with a short walk to the park.

I personally love the play productions they put on in the summer. You have to get there at least an hour early, and I recommend packing your own dinner. They do sell food, but it's not too big of a selection. They're plays are usually pretty good, I saw "Your a good man, Charlie Brown!" yesterday, Im not usually a fan of Charlie Brown, but I had a few chuckles! The garden they have is absolutely beautiful all year round.

For the 3rd consecutive year my family and I have made our way to Prescott parks fantastic plays in the park. We have gone to watch Mary Poppin's, The little mermaid, and this year, (our favorite yet), Beauty and the beast. I would recommend this to any family and or lover of plays/live performances.
