I like this experience because it's giving me knowledge of the film industry, with how it works, the history of it and some hands on experience as well on how to work on a set as well without wasting years in a traditional college to learn it. Ms. Carmichael is a great mentor because she knows a lot about the history of the industry that she witnessed and tells me the changes and challenges it went through over the years. Elliot was also pretty cool, he offered his assistance when I need it and even showed me screenwriting tips to help me work on my script when I got done with my drafts of the script and reviewed it. So yeah overall it was a pretty good experience if you don't want to waste a lot of time and money for traditional colleges.

My experience with Recording Connection has been amazing thus far! I was coming into this industry very intimidated and afraid that I would just be a deer caught in headlights. The hands on studio sessions with my mentor have made me feel more confident, Francesco is highly skilled and knowledgeable when it comes to his craft. I am a very hands on and visual learner and these studio sessions have been very insightful. From learning how to set up for a studio session to working and understanding pro tools and other equipment, I feel welcomed by all of the more advanced engineers and artists. They have taught me so much and made me feel comfortable in a short period of time. I would also like to thank my academic facilitator Alex for his talent and knowledge as well! If I am stuck or confused with a task dealing with pro tools or a project, he takes the time to walk me through step by step with what I may need help with. Both my mentor and academic facilitator are a great fit for me. I highly recommend RRFC for anyone who is looking to get the real deal hands on experience, knowledge and secrets from top rated industry professionals who want to see you at the top as well! Thank you RRFC!

From the very beginning, every person I have worked with was more than helpful. From getting in touch with the right mentor, to making sure everything was going smoothly. This program expanded my knowledge and gave me the step I needed. I Know now that I can confidently work on a script, or do a pitch right thanks to the excellent work done by these true professionals. Thanks to my mentor, Richard, I grew closer to films and have invested much needed time into the industry I want to work for. From the in's and out's to the basic knowledge needed. The help I received every week with feedback on my script, to making a pitch reel or shot list was without a doubt the best advice I have ever received. I created a story that the world will know all thanks to Richard, Elliot, and everyone else on behalf of Recording Radio Film Connections!

Film Connection is a great way to get into the field quickly. I took the Cinematography course, and am happy with the results. The course is about 6 months, but you can go on up to 9 months with your mentor. Just having one class to work with, as opposed to most colleges where you’ll have 4 or 5 classes at a time, really helped me focus on learning what I wanted to learn: how to operate a camera and work on set. The mentorship is the best part though. Being on live sets and getting to know the rhythm and flow of things has prepared me and made me more confident to enter the field. My academic advisor was helpful with letting me know when certain deadlines and such were coming up. I still have more time with my mentor planned before I fully move on to the career field, but I feel much more confident and prepared than before I took the course.

I have just completed my second course with RRFC. The Audio Engineering courses were a great fit for me.

The courses I had selected were very heavy in using the ProTools (Avid) workstation as a learning platform. If you are already familiar with that DAW program, you’ll have an advantage. If you are new to it, as I was, it can take up a lot of your study time learning it. -But it’s worth learning it!

The weekly lessons are online and can fit into anyone’s schedule. The academic lessons are easy to digest and the quizzes, tests and exams reinforce understanding. The personal academic advisor zoom meetings are crucial for any clarifying questions about the weeks lesson or help working on ProTools projects. I’ve leaned on my advisor Alex Torres, many times, for project help and general academic navigation with great success. Alex was very easy to schedule with and explained things very clearly and patiently.

There are lots of extra videos accessible to audio engineering students to watch how other engineering professionals mix their work- some big names and big artists keep it exciting to watch.

I think the greatest value in this program is the mentorship aspect. It gives you the opportunity to get hands on experience and see the inside of the industry. This type of networking can be priceless. I used two different mentors, in two different city’s- one for each course. This is where the experiential education comes in.

But even if the mentorship doesn’t become a career step, RRFC also offers help with pursuing a job in your field of study.

With these aspects, combined with the affordability, my experience with RRFC was one that was a perfect fit. I highly recommend it.

Film connection was a great way for me to get experience in the film industry. My mentor Elliot was always there to help me when I was unsure on what to do next. I am very grateful for the experience I had and would recommend it to anyone willing to work hard, try new things, and wants the opportunity to stretch out of their comfort zone into a new career.

I had a great experience with RRFC doing the audio engineering program and my mentor Alex did a great job teaching me and guiding through this journey. I feel much more confident in myself and skills and learned a lot throughout this course, the history of music and different philosophers and their studies, the proper way and order to track, mix, and master. I learned about the characteristics of sound/waves and the science behind sound, electricity, and frequencies. All this knowledge feels great to have and apply to my work and artistic creations and I've already began applying it and hearing/seeing the positive results. I also got connection to a local studio and had a in person mentor who I've built a connection with and now have contact to a studio and other like minded creators. RRFC has given me lots of knowledge and resources to use so I can thrive in audio engineering and get a job doing what I love!
