Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival

My visit was on Saturday, February 24. Came for the Rodeo and enjoyed some bbq. My goodness, the ribs were huge and full of meat, for $21, it's 5 ribs, and the guys gave me 7 ribs. Thank you! The food was well worth it. The Rodeo was 2 hours of fun. It was really crowded so next year plan your trip to find parking ($15 to $20) and try to buy your tickets ahead of time, that will save you a lot of time.

So we went back for round two. Of course we had our Fries Galore and Date Bombs. Even caught a date flight from the agriculture exhibit. Mom went diving for pearls again, Aloha!!! We made our way to the best beef jerky I've tasted in a while and I make it myself. The date Bombs and jerky were two places we returned for aside from those county fair cinnamon rolls. Yep you guessed it we picked up an order of those. Then we went to The Coachella Valley wood carvers exhibit. The stuff they make out of wood is amazing. But to watch them do it and entice you to want to join, the simple things are getting away from us. Finally we watched the pig races brought to us by livestock conservancy that is bringing back endangered species so we are balanced again. Needless to say we had another blast. Met some new people along the way and enjoyed what the city of Indio had to offer. It was gooooood!

Great place to go have drinks and delicious food and enjoy some great music and shows and events and even shopping. Fun for the entire family.

Came here for a Halloween haunt Eveit that was definitely more for kids than adults. But they had beer for sale and music and entertainment acts. Including a big maze. The maze costed extra and kind of expensive for one maze, so we held off this time but had fun. This place is great for any event.

Not what it’s cracked up to be Overpriced food Alicia’s Taco straight TRASH food was cold 5 bucks for a street taco that had no flavor ALSO SUPER COLD!!! Wristband went up Massively while all the rides were not in working order, THIS USE TO BE A FUN PLACE !!! NOW ITS OVERPRICED, FOOD IS NOT ALL THAT GOOD, & THIS WILL DEFINITELY BE OUR LAST YEAR ATTENDING THIS TRASH FESTIVAL!!!

First of Date festival is not just for dates. It's just a festival/carnival. The website is very deceiving not enough information. So, after a long walk and asking around we found where they have the dates, sadly it was in one of the building and only not even half of it was dedicated to dates. Overall we had fun, I've had my date shake which I can make it just the same at home. The weather was perfect, they had a parade going on outside of the carnival. The prices were outrageous, not worth it to spend. They raised everything by %100 . I've been to many carnival and expected the higher price but these prices were just ridiculous plus paying for unhealthy foods ? No thank you.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. I was born in Indio, CALIFORNIA 1979. I grew up watching my father work all the palm trees in the Coachella Valley, a long with my grandfather and 5 uncles. I remember helping my father with the pollination and the harvesting of the palm tree fruits, aka medjool dates. ❤️?

County doesn't run it anymore. No camels, ostriches, or chickens. Not many vendors either. But the dates are delicious!!
