Great theater for shows, performances and ballets. They have amazing wheelchair accessible seats for my disabled daughter who needs to be up close because of her visual issues. The staff and ushers at the theater are so nice, warm and accommodating. The only issue is the theater does not have any area to accomodate an adult changing table so there was no place to change my daughter (she's incontinent). I called the box office and they referred me to use the family companion restroom which we would have to lay her down on the floor to change her. I really hope the NJ state theater would consider modifying one of their companion bathrooms to add a folding adult size changing table which can be used by us and other families.

This was my first visit to the State Theatre to see Theresa Caputo. The venue itself is a great size—large enough for a good crowd but still intimate enough for a great view. Parking can be a bit challenging, so arriving early is a good idea. Overall, a nice experience!

The theater itself is nice, but our experience had some downsides. My daughter had a hard time seeing because the person in front of her was tall. We got her a booster seat, but it was very uncomfortable, and she stopped using it after just a few minutes. Given the high ticket prices, boosters should really be provided free of charge—other theaters offer them for free and with better quality. On a positive note, the bathrooms were clean, but the seats we purchased were just okay overall. Not sure if I would return to this theatre.

Beautiful theater and great show, however. The seats are tight. If you have big hips or long legs, you're going to be squished. The show itself was great, though!

As someone who grew up in New Brunswick, The State Theatre has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. From childhood performances to incredible concerts and Broadway-style productions, this venue has always been a gem in the heart of the city.

Even though I now live in NYC, I still make the trip back regularly because the theater continues to offer an outstanding and diverse selection of performances. Plus, it’s easily accessible via public transportation from the city, making it a convenient night out. The surrounding area is filled with fantastic restaurants, perfect for grabbing a bite before or after a show.

Whether you're a longtime fan or a first-time visitor, The State Theatre never disappoints!

Very nice theatre. I loved the NJ Symphony as I have seen them in the past.

I was Leary the first time about going with no parking lot, but the parking garages were very convenient and close to the theatre.
I enjoyed the Bugs Bunny Show. I learned a lot about the background sound and using only instruments!
