Great venue, but does get SUPER hot when there’s a lot of people there, so make sure to stay hydrated. I personally went to go see Ian perform. Awesome show!
There’s two floors. First floor is for general admission/VIP, and the second is for tables. The venue also has a bar open to order drinks.
Overall, the process of getting in and out went smoothly.

I love the open floor style of the venue, we went to an Alvaro Diaz concert and it was packed. When I tell you it was suffocated it really was. Maybe te AC units are not that powerful, but I can’t imagine how it would fair against the summer heat. Nonetheless, it is a truly awesome place to visit. Love the style and location.

If you are older or disabled, this might not be the venue for you because it's mostly standing room only and the few chairs are further away from the stage with not good views. The employees are really nice. Bathrooms could be cleaner.

I've been to this venue a couple times. As a tourist coming just for concerts I've never been disappointed, sometimes the sound seems to be a little bit lower than it is but i guess is just the perception of the venue. Since it is an old building you can admire the place from the inside.

I've seen Social Distortion here twice now, and it's a great venue! Perfect size, you could see Mike and the band up close. There's a bar in the back, never long restroom lines. I don't smoke, but if you do, there is a place to go. Close parking! It's just great! I'll definitely be back. Most likely for Social D again hahaha!

If I could I would put a zero. I had been waiting for this concert for so long not only that but it was my first ever concert. This place seriously needs to check their security I got accused of underage drinking I will admit I did hold my moms drink because she asked me too I didn’t see it as a problem since I know I’m not the type of person to “underage drink” she had to text my dad and she couldn’t put her drink on the floor because of her injured knee. This security guard accused me of looking at him into the eyes and taking a sip of her drink. When we were outside I asked the manager to check the cameras which he did not I understand now it’s not his fault but the security guards fault. The manager did end up only allowing me and my younger sister in. To do that I had to admit to something I didn’t do which ruined my whole night and concert I hope one day they check those cameras so they know who’s really at fault. I’ve never been accused unjustly or faced racism until this day. The security guard that accused me was a white elderly male with a beard. I saw another review of someone also getting racially profiled by a security guard with the same description. Even the people we had talked to that day were confused, a girl there said she never saw me take a sip we were shoulder to shoulder so she would have clearly seen if I would have taken one she also told me everyone around us were confused on why we got kicked out, again I am not that type of person. They owe me an apology. Please check your security!!

Hands down the best place to see your favorite artists. I’ve enjoyed the fact they do not try to oversell tickets unlike other venues in San Diego. This location is my top choice for any artist. Bars are great and I enjoy the food.

This was my first time coming to The Observatory for a show. I love PVRIS and this was such an intimate venue. We were right at the front of the stage so we had a GREAT spot. The staff was super friendly and efficient and they handed out water bottles while we waited in line outside (Shout out to security guard Carlos!) and then again inside the venue during the show. I highly recommend coming here for a show. Also, parking wasn't bad because there's a parking structure literally right across the street so no long treks like in Los Angeles. If another artist I love comes here, I would definitely return.
