A beautiful and easy layout. The outer courtyard offer a wide selection of beverages and snacks. Entering for a show is pretty quick and organized. You can bring beverages in it seems also.

It seems that 85% of the seating is fairly great as the theatre is medium size.
Many ushers to help guide you to seats. There are booster seats about 5 inches lift to help your little ones. There are a hard black plastic though, just a heads up.
They have convenient restrooms near by and often photo opportunity areas. Currently they have a Who style Christmas tree that lights at 445.
A wonderful Grinch show for our 4 year old and highly recommend taking kids and yourself to it.

Cute theater inside of Balboa Park! It’s very cozy and the outdoor is always festive during the holidays. Highly recommend seeing a play here whether you’re a local or a tourist

I love coming to the Globe for different performances. There are three theatres, the Globe, the round, and the festival theatre which all offer different experiences. My favorite is the round to see the other audience members reactions during the performances. There are typically 14-16 performances per year and in the summer all three theatres are open at the same time.

The Globe also does community performances like Globe for All where they take a show and perform it at various locations across San Diego and Tijuana in the fall.

We just watched The Grinch Stole Christmas and it was great!!! The entire cast was terrific. However the young girl who played Cindy Lou Who absolutely stole the show. I believe her name is Arden Johnson and she is a tremendous performer with an amazing voice. Kudos to everyone involved in the performance. We loved them all!!!

We just saw Murder on the orient express. Best set and show at the Old Globe ever! Cast was fantastic! I was genuinely impressed in their characters. The most amazing thing was the set though. I have never seen such amazing switches. I felt multiple times like we were on the train with the snow falling around me. The sets were detailed, intricate and professional. Go see it while it's still running. Best money on theatre I ever spent!!!

The box office at the Old Globe was terrific.
I accidentally came on the wrong day with my family to see the Grinch. I was so upset over my mistake. But the crew and management at the box office stepped in and accommodated my family with seats that night. They saved me from embarrassment and disappointed family members.
That was so sweet and unexpected to do that for me, even though it was my mistake.
Thank you box office. The night was a success and the show was fabulous. 🎄🎁🩷

Fun fun show - HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS - was expertly presented. The seats were comfie and any one of them would've had a very good view since it is a relatively small theater. Crying children and their guardians were politely led out to safeguard the experiences of everyone else there. A great experience albeit a tad on the pricey side.
