Attended for the Wheetus show and had a blast!

The venue was a little unusual in the sense that you purchase a general admission ticket, but then you're seated once you arrive. Since I only bought one ticket, I was assigned to the "singles pew" which was honestly the best seat in the house! Not only did it have a great view of the musicians, I had space to get up and dance during songs that inspired movement.

Only other thing to mention that I wish I'd known before going is that the beer is cash only, but there's an ATM next door.

I came to see Analog Missionary play at The Listening Room in Mobile, Alabama this evening. (05.25.2019) I had to call the owner Jim and set up my reservations for the show a few weeks in advance. He was very courteous, easy to work with, and seems genuinely dedicated to having a straightforward, band oriented venue that caters to enjoying the show without people getting crazy. The venue is small and very intimate, so any band you might catch her will feel very personal. The show was just that personal and intimate. Thanks for keeping the dream alive Jim.

Such a great experience. Loved the intimate setting! Everyone is focused solely on the music, which is really nice from other venues. They have beer and wine for sale (cash only) as well. Love the resident cat! ?

What a great, intimate music venue! Very friendly atmosphere. They have beer and wine, and surprisingly good acoustics. We saw Michelle Malone, who put on a fantastic performance. A great place for a date night!

I went to The Listening house aka The Peoples House on Saturday night, the host of the establishment is a very nice guy. We went to listen Sugarcane Jane. They were absolutely fabulous.
That being said the only problem that we had was that the
venue was booked solid, which is great, so the room was very heavily
occupied and they put people right up to the stage.
Unfortunately by doing that we couldn't see the performers. I was only able to
catch a glimpse of his left hand playing the top of the
guitar. I think if a little stage/platform so that it
raises up the performers off the ground so that everybody in the venue
could see and enjoy. This does not mean that I will never
go back because I had a very very good night and appreciate the owner getting great talent for people to enjoy.

Fantastic place to see live music, with the intimacy of a bar but the serious listening of a concert hall. No talking once the music starts, though there is some time prior to the show to get a beverage and chat with other members of your party. We have loved every act we have seen there. Highly recommend to those who appreciate music and want to actually hear it. Can't say enough good things about owner Jim Pennington, a true supporter of the artists. And the funky setting really adds to the experience.
