I really like that Joe started with drums before learning guitar. He emphasizes rhythm as the most important component of music and cultivates in his students the ability to execute tempo precisely. Although I'm still working on mastering this skill, I am able to keep the tempo much more consistently than I could when I started and I can feel my ability to "dial in" to a tempo getting better every week. Thanks to the drills and study steps Joe teaches, I feel like I know exactly what I need to do to continue to improve my sense of rhythm and its just a matter putting in the hours.
