I've had the pleasure of studying under Travis since January 2023 and I couldn't be happier with my current progress and overall experience.

Travis has been incredibly patient, knowledgeable and supportive, making each lesson approachable, enjoyable, and tailored to my musical tastes. His knowledge and style of teaching has allowed me to explore and appreciate styles of music I hadn't considered earlier (blues, jazz etc.).

The best aspect of Travis's lessons is his ability to make complex concepts accessible. He provides clear explanations and tailored exercises for every concept and following those has been the key in improving my guitar playing. Within 4 months of starting, I was able to go from barely being able to play a C Major Chord to start improvising in minor pentatonic as well as learning all the open chord shapes and understanding the fretboard. This not only improved my songwriting ability but also gave me confidence as a musician.

To summarize, if you are looking for a dedicated and highly skilled guitar instructor, I wholeheartedly recommend Travis's lessons. They've made a significant impact on my musical journey.

Travis is an exceptional teacher. My son took an intense summer course in jazz guitar to prepare for the LACHSA jazz department he was starting in the fall. Travis taught him everything he needed to know to improvise in jazz. Travis cuts to the important work in his lessons. Travis and I met at a rehearsal studio where he runs student jam sessions with music students. We struck up a conversation and Travis invited me to join. I have been attending his jams ever since, and have been learning a lot from Travis, not just about drums, but music in general! Travis Raab is the best Guitar teacher in the world! I know this for a fact because I am complete beginner at guitar, and from just a few weeks of lessons with Travis, I am playing actual songs on the guitar. I pretty much thought I was tone-deaf and without any sense of rhythm, but I always wanted to learn guitar and decided to give it one more shot. Turns out that my problem was that learning from YouTube really didn't work for me. I needed feedback from an actual teacher and Travis even gives me a weekly practice schedule. If he could help someone like me then he can help you. I love taking guitar lessons with Travis and I highly highly recommend him!

I've had an amazing experience taking guitar lessons with Travis! I grew up playing other instruments but it had been years since I picked anything up and I was intimidated. Travis creates the perfect balance of challenging me while keeping it fun and accessible. I have a crazy schedule so while I live close to his studio, I've taken advantage of his Skype lessons a few times and got just as much out of it. My main goal was accompanying myself singing and working on my own music and Travis has helped a TON with that.. I think it adds a lot that he's a working musician and songwriter in his own right. Can't recommend him enough if you want to learn a ton and have fun.

After doing some research and taking a few lessons from different people, I was definitely convinced that Travis was the best teacher for me. However, I was still a bit hesitant about committing to virtual lessons over in-person lessons. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for me to realize that Travis has the rare ability to communicate in a way that makes it always feel as though you’re in the same room.

I can confidently say that his “virtual lessons” are every bit as effective as in-person lessons would be. And not only that, they are also incredibly convenient and time-saving.
