Travis will help you find what you’re looking for, even if you don’t know what you’re looking for. I’ve subscribed to one of their bundles for going on two years, and I’m constantly being opened up to my new favorite music.

They have a good selection of tapes and cds, even books, so don’t let your lack of a turntable discourage you. The best record store Montgomery has ever had by a country mile. And free concerts happening almost every week.

The owner of this store is such a great resource for anyone who wants to know more about vinyl (in particular) and music (in general). He has created a phenomenal collection of rock, blues, classical, folk, weird stuff that defies any category, and a little pop, just for fun. He has a store full of music from all genres (mostly records, but some CDs and books as well), and if you don't find exactly what you want, he will special order anything that his distributors have available.

We stumbled across this gem of a record store on a recent trip to the gulf coast and what a find. Very well curated collection and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Got some great music recommendations as well as some other places to stop and check out in Montgomery. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

When you want to chat about music or get lost digging through stacks, VGR has the vibe you're looking for. Owner and operator, Travis has a wealth of knowledge and easy demeanor, and a willingness to help research any music you are hunting (and ability to recommend similar artists!). They offer Vinyl, CD's & Cassettes, Vinyl accessories, & a record cleaning service.

I had a wonderful experience there today. My wife and I came in to browse, and thanks to their great selection and helpful start, we left $300 poorer. I will definitely be back.

Edit: Having been back several times, I'm always glad to go in and talk with the owner about music. He's so knowledgeable and always makes great recommendations

Owner is extremely nice. I love coming in here and just browsing. The cat is friendly, you can pet him for hours if you wanted. Organized nicely. Workers are helpful and will even try to search for records or recommend them even! He recommended a Byrds album to us since they didn’t have Turn! Turn! Turn!
