Vreny is the ultimate guitar teacher. He is not only super intelligent, he is also intuitive and lighthearted and completely invested in me and my musical success even after such a short time. I have only just begun taking lessons with him, but I needed to write this review so others can hear what he is capable of. He has already been able to communicate to me theoretical concepts that few others could and in a way that I can easily understand. He has also helped me to figure out how to implement them in my playing which is not always the easiest task.

Let me just say, that since 2022 I have been taking guitar lessons weekly, but unfortunately I went through teacher after teacher (3 in total) who, while knowledgeable in their own ways, and able to play very well themselves, were just not necessarily the teachers for me. In their defense, I did not grow up playing music as a child and started teaching myself guitar in the 9th grade with the best intentions, but always hitting the same familiar roadblocks. I had problems with rhythm, learning songs, and as mentioned above, musical theory seemed like a foreign language to me that I just would never be able to speak. Though it had been loosely explained to me by so many different humans, in so many different ways I thought it was just not something my brain would ever be able to grasp.

As you can imagine I ended up spending a lot of time and money investing in other teachers, and it is a relief to finally have met Vreny!! My entire perception has quickly changed in regard to my musical goals and what I now believe I can accomplish moving forward. On our first lesson he immediately saw where I was at with my learning and was able to give me 4 easy, and yet super useful exercises that addressed specific needs and areas that needed work. Of course then it was on me to make sure I practiced these activities, but it was easy to do because there were no longer any questions or doubts in my mind about whether or not I could accomplish the task. I love practicing now and have easily doubled my playing time per day, because it no longer feels like a question of if it will make me better; I can see the results in real time.

Going back to the amount of money one can end up spending on lessons and teachers, I just want to say that I've had teachers that charged way more per hour than Vreny. I thought initially that maybe the higher cost was an indication of a better teacher but obviously I found out the hard way that this is not always the case. I feel lucky to be able to spend any amount at all toward lessons in this world of never-ending expenses, but just know that with Vreny, you will feel confident you are getting the most for you money. He also offers discounts for multiple lessons through package deals if you end up paying for up front, which honestly makes it way more affordable. Vreny also offers both in-person and online lessons. I had never done online lessons in the past, but Vreny suggested I give it a try and I found that they are actually perfect for me and my busy schedule. In addition, I've never had the ability to record lessons which is a real game-changer. To be able to revisit any lesson concept as many times as you would ever want is really priceless in my opinion. It's like having your own collection of masterclasses catered to you, forever!

Overall, I can see the path forward and I am happy to say I will be studying with Vreny well into the future because I look forward to all the knowledge and insights he will teach me. Though I wish I could have met Vreny years ago, I feel super grateful to be studying with him now and know that he will take me where I want to go. If you've ever wanted to play music or maybe you're like me and have been playing for a long time but it just never quite clicked, you owe it to yourself to give Vreny a call. His energy and enthusiasm is contagious, and I've never had so much fun learning an instrument. Thanks Vreny, see you next week!!

I have been taking lessons from Vreny over a couple years now. I highly recommend Vreny as a guitar instructor. My guitar skills have improved a lot over this period. Vreny does a great job keeping the progress by sending out homework and history of lessons over the time. The lessons are fun and time flies by !

Vreny is the best! As an adult learning guitar, I have found so much value in his time-saving techniques for getting the most out of practice time. He's been able to explain music theory in terms that I could finally understand. Learning from him has been just an overall great experience that allowed me to finally start my own band.

I’ve been studying with Vreny for two years. He is the real deal. I have never met anyone who knows more about the world of guitar (technique, theory, style, etc.) than he does. He is the teacher for you if you are truly interested in becoming a legit, respected, amazing guitar player. He sees no boundaries and his positive attitude is contagious. Highly recommend him for anyone who is serious about becoming a great player and understanding the craft on a deep level.

Vreny is an amazing guitar teacher, and a great human being. I have loved taking lessons with him, and I highly recommend him as a teacher!

I moved to Los Angeles about a year ago as a barely-more-than-beginning guitar player, and have been taking weekly lessons with Vreny ever since. Vreny has really helped me to improve at my own rate and continue to have fun making music. He is very patient with my occasionally inconsistent levels of practice, and I feel like we make progress and have a great time regardless of how much I have been able to do in a week.

Vreny assigns great songs, and I feel like I have gotten a great tour of rock 'n' roll history and music theory, as well as improving my skills. He does an amazing job of assigning songs that are at exactly the right level to make challenge me and stretch me beyond what I think I can accomplish. My lessons with Vreny are always one of the highlights of my week (especially when I am slogging through long hours at my job!), and I feel like I have improved so much since I started taking lessons with him.

At the end of every lesson, Vreny asks me, "Did you have fun?" The answer is always yes 🙂

Vreny’s Guitar Lessons will make you a better player period. If I could do it all over again I would go straight to him instead of my instructors when I was a kid. When I finally went to Vreny he nursed my bad habits with patience and turned them into professional habits. His lessons made me approach the guitar more like a chess player. I think of the guitar now as a friend and confidant instead of a mountain that can never be climbed. These lessons aren’t just about the guitar they are life lessons that help you see life more clearly and positively. Vreny’s energy is contagious. He will rub off on you I promise!

Vreny is amazing. Really. He is formally trained and has been playing for many years. He cares about pedagogy (a lot), and he has as much knowledge about how someone learns as he does how to play guitar. He will go in whatever direction the student wants to go. If you want to learn a lot of theory, he can and will do it. If you want to learn an entire favorite album, he's in. If you aren't sure what kind of a guitar player you want to be, he will explore that, too. There's no shame, no cajoling. He's always upbeat, and he's there to help you become the player you want to be, on your schedule. He teaches in person and by Skype, too, so it doesn't matter where you are.
