Formally known as the Performing Arts Center, the Wendy Williamson Auditorium (WWA) open house was held on March 16, 1975. The auditorium cost 2 million to construct and was shared between the Anchorage Community College (ACC) and the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA).

The Performing Arts Center was renamed to the Wendy Williamson Memorial Auditorium and Lecture Hall in August 1989. John Wendell "Wendy" Williamson was a professor of music for 17 years at ACC/UAA. Wendy Williamson passed away June 25, 1988 at the age of 65.

A great place to have an event!

The Wendy Williamson Auditorium has hosted so many events that most likely you've been here for one of them. There is plenty of parking next to the Professional Studies Building (West Parking Lot). Plenty of seats most of the time, but there are those times that you need to get here early to get a good seat.

The employees at the Wendy Williamson Auditorium are polite and hardworking. If you plan an event here you'll be thankful for all the talent and knowledge.

I'm not sure how handicap accessible friendly they are...lots of stairs all the way around. I'm sure there are options? Otherwise lots of parking! Had a blast the 2 times we went..once for ABBA FAB and once for Irish Dancing! Kinda like a hidden gem!

This was a great place to hold the Anchorage Folk Festival. The seating is comfy, not too small and plenty of space to walk by others who are seated. The stage + seating had an intimate feel for its size. Bathrooms were easy to find, and the lobby area was well lit, though maybe a bit cramped with all the tables and booths from the festival. The sound quality was good, and specific to the folk festival was the excellent team of sound techies that swapped it/out all the equipment between each act. Well done! Seems to be a nice, well-run place.

Banff film series was, as always. Intriguing, entertaining and educational. It was a packed house. Glad to see it! Wendy Williamson is large with plenty of leg room between rows. Very comfortable. I look forward to this event each year.
