It's a good location along the river with plenty of parking. Like all parks, there is a vagrancy issue but I've never had a problem with them.
The city of Bakersfield needs to do a better job with the upkeep of the park as it is realy a nice park but always has trash blowing around and the grassy area is full of holes big enough to break your leg in. 'The ground squirels are really a problem there'. I was there yesterday when they were mowing, and nobody picked up any of the trash before mowing was syarted, so now it's 50 times the amount of trash just in smaller pieces blowing around and getting into the river.
The park is great, but the maintenance needs big improvement.

Has a big kid area and a little kid area. Both were very exciting for our children 13, 10, 4, and 1. Was sketchy about the bathrooms because of the area and how many people not attending the park that were going in and out of there, so we just didn't even go in there. Lots of parking. And a park ranger drove by the side of the park while we were there and waved at us. Felt safe. Great scenery 👌 with the mountains 🌄 off in the distance. Nice track to run on. Watch for holes, lots of wildlife. I understand alot of people were making negative reviews about the gophers, but we loved it. The kids had a blast watching them run in and out of their holes and learning about them. It was a great experience for all 6 of us.

This park has an updated play area and i like it but it doesn’t get much recognition. It is hidden it’s Yokuts Park the playground itself looks to be clean and kept up with like it is cleaned a few trash bins here and there and trash on the floor but it’s clean at least the playground area. There are restrooms but I did not use the restrooms therefore can’t give much on that, just that as soon as you park you see the restrooms and the playground. It is dog friendly a lot of dogs today as it’s Sunday but like most parks there isn’t the doggy bags post by the trash bins. So much room to run and play our dog loves it. There are shaded picnic areas as well as unshaded. The shaded area closest to the playground has only two tables. The rest are a few back and walking distance. My kids still love the park and with a little and another on the way we will be frequently coming to parks the park by our house isn’t much so we drive around looking for parks and all.

The park is great! Wide expensive space, TONS of squirrels for the kids to chase. There's a big play ground and little play ground for different ages. Lots of benches and tables, lots of trees. There's also large harness swings for disabled children. There's a walking path as well.

The park is really nice. There is plenty of parking and tables to sit and eat at. My son played on the playground for an hour and still didn't do everything he wanted to do. There are restrooms on site, but in the men's restrooms the toilet stalls where open, no closeing door, so be warned.

The community had a Blue Zone fair to support and educate people on how to live a healthier life. They had many booths with information and some had food samples.
The big down side were all the squirrel holes.

Stopped on a whim when traveling through Bakersfield, great stop for kids to rest and stretch. We ate a picnic lunch under a big shady tree and then used the playground. We’ll definitely stop again while in town. Playground is great for all ages.

Nice wide open park with a lot of space, decently maintained playgrounds albeit a bit old. Lot of groundhog holes in the ground though, so watch your step!
