While I love keeping it local, this just isn’t the place. We live car free and ride bikes, so transporting goods can be challenging, at times. After a last minute decision to stop at Zia I found a record I wanted to purchase. Having been here many times and never having an issue receiving a cardboard sleeve in the past, I assumed this time would be no different. However, upon request, we were informed it would cost us $3.99 to PURCHASE the sleeve…yeah not happening. I work at a local business here in Tucson, and if the difference between us losing and retaining a customer was 3.99, we’d chose the latter. Oh well.

Rode our bikes here today to pick up a record. Asked for a cardboard mailer and they wanted to charge us $4 so we could get the record home safely. Needless to say, I told them no thanks and declined to spend the $30 on the record that I could’ve just ordered from Amazon cheaper, anyway. Hard to support a “local” business when they make it this hard. Won’t be going back here anytime, and they’ve lost my business permanently. I’ve got a ~400 record collection and I’m not afraid to spend money…but $4 for a piece of cardboard is ridiculous. Bookmans from now on!
Reading the other 1star review on here from last week- I know EXACTLY which employee this was. She did it several times today- I witnessed it…must be their ploy to get people to leave. She didn’t do it to me, but I saw her bully others. Pretty messed up.

If you want a Record Store where one of the employees are incredibly rude, is the place! I was looking through records on an end cap and a young lady comes over and says excuse me, and without giving me a split second to move hip checks me and then goes right behind me to look at some CDs. Then, instead of going the other way, she says excuse me once more without even giving me a chance to move and nails in to me again. She’s then proceeds to the front counter looks at something runs back and again nails me again her way around the corner.

I said I’ll move away from here for the rest of the night if that’s OK, and she says I’m helping a customer and I work here! So like that gives her every right to hip check people not once but three times. I’ve never seen a business where it’s perfectly OK to purposely run into customers just because they work there. Understand there’s multiple different avenues she could’ve taken, or told me to move until she was finished, and I could keep looking at the product that they sell.

I have had many strange experiences here. Bizarre Haggred employees wandering aimlessly. I
absolutely love that I got what I wanted . Seriously.. I just called them and the lovely girl I spoke to was a delightful conversation. So...I'm 5star Zia at this location .

Me and my fiancé have been here plenty of times, but this most recent experience was extremely horrible and disappointing.
Yes, we came at 8pm on Sunday 08/15 - before assuming the trade counter was still open, my fiancé went inside and asked in which the employee to the left said yes to bring them in. As he walked back out to the car to grab the 3 items, and I browsed close to the counter, I can hear the two associates off to the left ( when you walk in) talking crap about the trade in and us coming in.
As my fiancé walked back in, I told him loud and clear what happened loud enough for the employees to see hear and give them an opportunity to apologize or defend their side of the story. But to no avail. As we waited for our trade we already knew we weren’t going to accept, because of how rude they were being.
As we looked at the video games my fiancé saw one at the counter and asked a separate employee ( who indeed was much nicer ) to view the item, since she was unsure she had to ask the other employees if we could view the item.. to which the rude female employee stated “ ya that can see them their just put back here because their expensive so make sure you get it back “ acting as if we were planning or implying that we were going to run out with the item. As WE WERE CHECKING OUT AND BUYING OUR ITEMS- we asked for the managers name to which the nice employee mentioned that the two employees off to the left were the managers. Highly disappointed and felt so embarrassed being in there will be calling tomorrow to hopefully speak to a different manager about this situation.

As a first time trade customer , brought in 15 records and 10+ games - they took 3 hours to process the pricing on trade - they liked everything and kept everything I brought in with No rejects - got $39 in store credit - disappointed
