Our large family with 4 kids went on the whale watching/fishing excursion with Stan and Bill. They were excellent! After being evacuated from Denali and having to change all of our plans up north, we needed something to get our trip back on track with all the wonder and splendor we know Alaska has to offer. We have been to Alaska many times in the past and have taken many other whale watching excursions. This was by far the best. We had so much fun with the crew and this day ended up being the highlight of our trip. We saw many whales both breaching and feeding. We saw otters, eagles, sheep, sea lions and the list goes on. One of the really cool things we did was go to Holgate glacier. There was only 1 boat in the bay that was leaving as we pulled up to the face. They served us deli sandwiches and drinks and we had a picnic all to ourselves in front of the glacier. What a wonderful experience it was that we will never forget. The fishing was great as we all caught our limit. Bill prepared the fillets for us and they told us where to go right next to the marina to get the them frozen and shipped home, this happened without issue. Captain Stan was awesome and he let our youngest, who has to do everything, sit up in his chair and use the loud hailer to call out the depths we would be fishing at. On our way back, Bill gave us a show with the seagulls by throwing up the scraps that they would try and catch and fight over. To top it all off we were greeted by Dall's porpoise, and Captain Stan slowed down to see if they wanted to "play". They promptly came our way and proceeded to surf and play in the bow wave. They could have just rushed us back because it was the end of the day but they slowed and let all of us go on the bow to watch them. They were filled with a ton of knowledge and answered all of our kids questions with laughs and smiles. What more can you ask for? Just remember they can't control the weather or the waves, if you get seasick easily maybe boats aren't for you. Don't complain about the airplanes if you buy a house next to the airport... I cannot recommend them enough. If you are a large family like us and want to be able to "do it all" on your day in Seward, look no further.

I've been on many guided deep water fishing trips, including 3 in AK. And I can say without a doubt that my fishing/sightseeing trip with Stan and Bill at AK Saltwater Tours was the best one ever. In my opinion, these two are the best fishermen, tour guides, boat operators and all around good guys you'll ever meet. Thanks guys for the trip of a lifetime you two. I can't wait to be back again!!

Stan and Bill were phenomenal guides, spectacular scenery, got our group of 13 into great fishing. I would definitely book one of their trips again! We saw humpback whales, killer whales, otters, sea lions, caught black rock fish and salmon. Highly recommend!

We did a tour on August 31st with Stan and Bill. We appreciated them taking us out because we were the only 2 on the tour. The combination fishing and sightseeing tour is a great idea. We saw orcas, a humpback whale, sea lions, goats, sea otters, and harbor seals. We caught our limit of rockfish!

Had a wonderful trip in some pretty challenging conditions.

First time to Alaska and I am glad we went with Alaska Saltwater Tours. Everything seemed like genuine Alaska: Kathy, Stan, the Stellar Explorer (boat)….even the conditions! Despite the weather (rain, fog, wind) Stan was able to guide us on a highly entertaining tour of the bay. If you are looking for a more personal tour of the bay, without the large crowds, this is your company!

An amazing experience! We did the combination fishing and wildlife tour and had a blast. As a non-fisherman I caught 3 fish! Saw some rare wildlife and enjoyed our time so much. Seas may be rough, so prepare accordingly if you get motion sickness. Our crew were top-notch: Knowledgeable, personable, and skilled as guides. Highly recommended outfit!
