Delaney park is a neat little runway-shaped park near downtown Anchorage with plenty of memorials worth seeing. I believe at one point, before becoming a park, it was used as an emergency runway for seaplanes.

Went for the fourth of July celebration. Was fun. Enjoyed getting out of the house and enjoying. Ate at the Russian food cart and had some pink cotton candy (my favorite). The live band was very good.

Love seeing this stuff, but the train was in some need of TLC. The area around doesn't look very maintained, little trash here and there on the benches and structures.

I happen to live right on the Delaney park strip, which used to be the actual landing strip for all aircraft coming into Anchorage years ago. Its a huge park of perfect greenery next to Downtown. Always hosting activities during the Summer, including car shows, free yoga sessions (100's attend), fireworks, food trucks, tai-chi, etc.

Good, easy to find, park for an event with vendors; a lot of flat, grass space. Not a lot to do though, unless attending an event. A lot of parking spots all around the area but not always easy to find an open space. Free though! 🙂
